Jyväskylän Taidemuseo Exhibition - Finland
Project type
Film Photography
Date
May 2025
Location
Finland
I was lucky enough to have some of my multimedia film work displayed at the Jyväskylän Taidemuseo in Finland.
When creating this collection I was inspired by the Japanese art form of Haiga, a kind of traditional visual poem that combines haiku with brush painting and calligraphy. These works are a modern take on this beautiful technique.
I wanted to use visual storytelling to showcase not only my perspective and experience, but the experience of the subjects - everything has a story to tell.
I used Kodak 35mm film and a Kodak Retina and Pentax Spotmatic to shoot the photos. The choice to use film came from a desire to capture the moment in its truest, fleeting form. I used Adobe Illustrator to create and design the text.
